Early auger bench test

Early auger bench-test

I had no idea what sort of auger would be suitable for my stoker-burner and all I couldn't find on the Internet was information about augers for grain silos and similar. Those were all prohibitively expensive and obviously too big. So, as usual, the game was - make your own! It turns out that it only had to be very small and efficiency really didn't matter at all because it rotates for very little of the time to do the job. However, ideas have to be tested and the point of this experiment was to see how fast and how often the auger would have to rotate to supply sufficient fuel. The auger is only had operated at this time.
