Complete boiler-system under test

Finally I reached the point where I could test the entire system (this photo was taken before the boiler-system was installed in the boiler-house). I'm happy to say it all went very well and I used this system to heat my house for the next four years. I had previously used a simple relay circuit to control the timing of the auger motor but decided to install a more sophisticated micro-controller arrangement for this boiler-system. The advantage of a micro-controller is that it has many outputs so all of the fans, motors and sensors can be centrally co-ordinated, it also makes it much easier to make modifications to the way the system runs as software is easier to change than hardware.
